Is this slightly outward angle of the eyes only in manga drawings or does it also apply to realistic stuff?

it's often used in manga moe style ^^ in realism the eyeballs doesn't follow an angle but the eyelids covering the eyeball can build characteristic forms and angles depending on the musclestructure of the face.
